An Introduction to Flood Risk

This is the first, foundational session in the series of Flood Resilience Ambassador online training modules. It is an essential introduction for anyone who wants to be more informed about the risks and consequences of flooding. It sets the scene for why and how communities can get involved in practical steps to reduce local flood risk.

This session is designed to help you :

  • explain to someone else what is meant by ‘flood risk’
  • understand some of the key factors contributing to changing weather patterns
  • how global heating is increasing flood risk identify some factors that influence flood risk in the local area (Canvey Island)
